Dream Fragments

August 23, 2010 - Travels with Stephen Fry

Dream:

I was in a resort town, trying to prep to move to a new location. I was a traveler that was part of a larger group touring the area. Weird stuff was happening, but no one was bothered by that. Not even me, until I went to take a shower in a hot pink room. Every time I turned my head the scene changed:

I'm in a hot pink closet. Look left. Look right. The back of the closet expanded 5 feet, there's now a shower! Look left. The door's gone! Look right. There are hands coming out from the shower wall! Things appear and disappear the second they are out of my line of sight. Still managed to take part of a shower before I escaped.

Later on, I bumped into Stephen Fry, who took me dimension-hopping via crawling inbetween the walls and attic spaces of a large, crumbly building. The passcode was GUMBALL.

Analysis:

I was not me in this dream, but some teenage girl on a trip with some group for some forgotten purpose. I interacted with the other kids in my group, had crushes, teased, and chatted with them, all that rot.

The hot pink room scene was influenced by a comic or something that my character read before she had to take a shower. Things rearranging themselves radically around you, without being able to perceive them, triggers the fear of change, of the unknown response. Although, it is a trick overused in horror movies (still effective!)

As for the Stephen Fry as Dr. Who and me as The Companion type scene, who doesn't want to go on adventures with someone smart enough to get you out of most any jam! You can find out more about this British intellectual here: http://www.stephenfry.com/

TL;DR Analysis:

Want to travel/adventure, but fear of unknown holding me back, just need the right mindset, companion, and purpose.
